This book is a grammar of Zhoutun, a Chinese variety spoken in Guide County, Qinghai Province, and hugely influenced by Amdo Tibetan. This book is divided into seven parts. Chapter 1 is an introduction. Chapter 2 discusses the phonology. Chapter 3 deals with nouns and noun phrases, in which word formation, number, case relations, and referentiality are discussed. Chapter 4 is concerning about verbs and verb phrases. Aspect, modality, serial verb construction, verb-complement constructions, valence changing, possession, and existence are involved in this chapter. Chapter 5 discusses adjectives and adverbs. The minor word classes, including pronouns, demonstratives, interrogative words, numerals, classifiers, final particles, adpositions, and coordinators, are introduced in Chapter 6. Chapter 7 concerns clause structure, in which word order, ditransitive constructions, copula clauses, comparative clauses, imperative clauses, interrogative clauses, subordinate clauses, and topic structure are discussed.
